Delete your KilometerProof account

KilometerProof (published by Daniel Tougas). This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data.

In the app

Open the Profile tab and tap “Delete account”. Type DELETE and tap “Request deletion”. You are signed out.

Without the app

Enter your account’s e-mail address and tap “Send the confirmation link”. If an account uses that address, we send it a link valid for 24 hours; open it and confirm.

If you can no longer receive e-mail at that address, write to confidentialite@kilometerproof.com.

What happens next

Nothing is deleted for 7 days. We e-mail you a link to cancel; you can also sign in to the app and tap “Cancel deletion”. During those 7 days you cannot record readings or export reports. After 7 days your account is erased, and your photos and report files are removed from storage.

What is deleted

Your sign-in account, your profile, your personal vehicles, all your personal readings (including personal trips on a company vehicle), your photographs, your report files and history, the record of e-mails sent from your account, and any invitation sent to your address.

What is kept, and why

Business trips you recorded for a company stay with that company as its own records, no longer linked to you. Your photos, notes and device details are removed from them; the date, odometer, distance, trip type, purpose and location remain, and that company’s manager can still see them. A declared business distance on a company vehicle is kept the same way, without the personal part. A record that a deletion took place (dates only) is kept as proof that your request was carried out.

Copies outside our database

Database backups are kept for 7 days, then replaced; they do not contain your photos or files. The provider that sends our e-mails keeps its own delivery logs. Odometer photos read automatically are deleted by the provider (Anthropic) after a limited period under its terms.

Company managers

If you manage a company that still has active employees, your account cannot be deleted yet: transfer management to an employee in Company settings, or end every employment first.

Before you delete

Export your reports first. Nothing can be recovered afterwards, and keeping your records for six years remains your responsibility.
